dark disco train by professor eddy

The idea behind the mix was to make a disco mix for dark days. Most of the disco songs are about having fun, feeling good and making love. I put together some dark (post) disco tracks and personal favourites of mine that always make me feel good. I hope you enjoy this new one, even when you’re feeling happy! ;-)

01 nick straker band – leaving on a midnight train [12”] (1980)
02 ultravox – we came to dance (1983)
03 lisa lisa & cult jam with full force – i wonder if i take you home [eddy’s edit] (1984)
04 joan osborne – i’ve got to use my imagination (2007)
05 wings – good night tonight [12”] (1979)
06 american gypsy – queen for a day (1975)
07 george aaron – silly reason (1985)
08 the human league – hard times (1981)
09 corey hart – sunglasses at night (1984)
10 time bandits – endless road [high energy dance mix] (1985)
11 go west – king of wishful thinking (1990)
12 visage – damned don’t cry (1982)
13 sheila & b. devotion – spacer [12”] (1980)
14 silvetti – sun after the rain (1978)
15 grace jones – sorry [a tom moulton mix] (1976)

Really nice tunes! A very good mix of seventies disco, new wave and electro.

I really dug this mix. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Sheila & B. Devotion with Spacer. Nice.

Still listening to it from time to time. I would call the style ‘electro soul’ or something. Many synthesizers but an overall soulful feeling. Very good!
