in the late sixties someone called soul music played by white musicians, like mick jagger and david bowie, ‘plastic soul’. in the seventies some angry people said that disco was ‘plastic soul’, because of its artificial beats and electronic instruments. this is a tribute to those ‘plastic soul’ days of the seventies and eighties, when new influences entered the soul scene and became the soil for house music later on…
