plastic soul by professor eddy
subscribeNovember 3rd, 2008
in the late sixties someone called soul music played by white musicians, like mick jagger and david bowie, ‘plastic soul’. in the seventies some angry people said that disco was ‘plastic soul’, because of its artificial beats and electronic instruments. this is a tribute to those ‘plastic soul’ days of the seventies and eighties, when new influences entered the soul scene and became the soil for house music later on…

It’s always good to hear Bobbi Humphrey in a mix, she sets me at ease… ;-) Again a great soul-disco mix by the prof! Hummingbird is a name to remember, very good (blue-eyed?) soul.

Thanks for your comment, always nice to read! I discoverd Hummingbird recently. Don’t know much about them, to be honest. Bobbi Humphrey is the most sensual flute player around!
